Thank you for partnering with us to see and be the good for our community!

FOR THE CITY is a 501c3 non-profit. Your donation helps us create community partnerships through our community networking MeetUps.  We serve as a clearinghouse for the social service sector of our city. Our volunteer database found here on the FOR THE CITY website allows nonprofit partners to communicate their needs to the community in a centralized location. Your donation powers the volunteer database so that our community can meaningfully engage their city through volunteerism.

Thank you!

In 2018, For The City partnered with Brenham ISD and Burton ISD to organize a no-cost back-to-school supply market to ensure local students receive the school supplies they need. Thanks to the support of many of you and many local partners, our first market served over 500 Washington County students in need and last year the effort expanded to serve over 1,027 students. Although the coronavirus pandemic has impacted fundraising for many organizations, including For The City, please know we remain committed to providing school supplies for high need students in our community.

With so much uncertainty and the potential for continued limitations on social gatherings in the fall, our organization is rethinking the structure for the 2020 school supply market. We do not anticipate holding an in-person distribution of supplies, but are exploring drive-through and campus delivery models. We are also moving to a self-nomination process to allow families to fill out a form and request a voucher for supplies. Our goal for this year’s effort is to provide supplies for high need students, including all of the incoming prekindergarten students at the Brenham Early Childhood Learning Center.

We are living in unprecedented times, but we remain steadfast in our pledge to take care of our students, our families and our community. If you would like to be involved in the 2020 school supply effort, please click on the image or contact Tori Bryan at
